It plays out kind of like a movie and that is something I think is very cool. The game is a cinematic masterpiece, as long as you can follow the story of course. I really like the Mother Base, but many of the missions feel very similar and by the end of the game this can get a bit old. The problem I have is that the whole game has a very “samey” kind of feel to it. It is a fun experience and I like how you can go from sneaking around one minute to all hell breaking loose the next. The core gameplay of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is fine. You can get new gear, better stats and so on and I found expanding the Mother Base to be very addictive. They can be part of the combat unit, R&D unit and the medical unit just to give you a few examples. As you play the game you can get new troops that can be set to various parts of the base.
I really like what Konami did with the Mother Base.
