The firmware is fine, I updated it while it was connected to the router via LAN I guess is the best term, but still no luck. I don't know what else to try, I might have to reset it to factory defaults, but I just bought it a few days ago and it only connected to wifi one time ever so I don't know why that would matter. I read up about this on tons of PS forums and they recommended various things like selecting a permanent IP address and/or DHCP-something, which I wasn't able to figure out for Windows 7, and resetting the PS4 to factory which I'd hate to do because I downloaded a bunch of games from my PSN and PS+ accounts. I tried manually entering my WPS key and hitting the WPS button on the router and nothing happens, it just times out- I check the settings on the PS4 and it shows a MAC and IP address so I don't know what's wrong unless it's a software issue.
So my wired DSL connection averages about 15 Mbps and my Bluray player, notebook computer, and PS3 have no problem connecting to my wifi (from several rooms away) but even when my PS4 I just bought is right next to the router (literally a foot away) it wont connect at all.
